Yes, any negative and loud noise can frighten a gerbil. Any amount of sudden sounds can cause intense amounts of stress. In some cases, it is not recommended. Place their cage away from loud areas such as televisions, music systems, and barking dogs. Ensuring loud, free surroundings is necessary.
